I’m April. In 2021, I joined the millions of people ready to make a change. It was not an easy decision. After all, I’d spent nearly 20 years building a career in university-level student development and program management. I’d even gone back to school myself to earn a Master’s degree in Higher Ed Policy & Leadership Studies while working and raising a child. Was I really going to say farewell to my professional home, incredible students and trusted colleagues in pursuit of something new? Yes. Yes, because I was ready to launch a new course. Throughout my career, I’ve most enjoyed talking with folks about their ideas, their past experiences, their future goals, and - especially - what they want to learn. I’ve also always found satisfaction in editing and helping students improve their writing. But I also noticed that those who came back to school mostly made it on grit and persistence because there are so few resources to guide them. And so I’ve made it my mission to support those individuals. People like you.
